What kind of designer are you?
For the last eight years I’ve been a UX/Product Designer. But before that, I was primarily a Visual Designer and Illustrator. Combining those skill sets has allowed me to design everything from branding, marketing and informational sites, to working with product teams to produce applications on web and mobile.
Where do you best fit in?
Alongside a product team and parallel to developers. Working with product owners and managers gives me the proximity to learn and understand the product or feature that needs to be designed. This proximity also tightens the communication loop between product and design, allowing all parties to quickly and efficiently build and pivot.
What do you love about design?
I love how design makes me think. How being a designer allows me to interact with and learn from so many people. And I love how at the very beginning of a project you have no idea what the end result will be, but by trusting and pursuing the right parameters and process you’ll end up with something quite lovely.
